(b) 2 and 3 only

(c) 1 and 3 only

(d) 1, 2, and 3

Answer: (a) 1 and 2 only

Explanation:

Statement 1 is correct: Rani Avantibai Lodhi was the queen and regent of the estate of Ramgarh (located in present-day Dindori/Mandla region of Madhya Pradesh). She took over the administration after her husband, King Vikramaditya Singh, fell ill and her sons were minors.

Statement 2 is correct: During the 1857 Uprising, she raised an army of approximately 4,000 fighters. In November 1857, at the Battle of Kheri (near Mandla), her forces routed the British contingent commanded by Deputy Commissioner Captain Waddington, forcing the British to retreat.

Statement 3 is incorrect: She never surrendered nor did she sign a subsidiary treaty with the British. When the British returned with reinforcements and surrounded her near the hills of Devharigarh, she chose self-sacrifice over captivity and fell upon her own sword on March 20, 1858, achieving martyrdom.
